Set to be held September 2 - 6, the historic Walla Walla Frontier Days in Walla Walla, Washington, (hometown of bull rider Derek Kolbaba) rodeo announced today that it is canceling its 154th annual event for 2020.
In a post on Facebook, Walla Walla Fair & Frontier Days wrote:
To our community,
As many have heard, a very hard decision was made at the WW County Commissioners public meeting this morning June 8, 2020.
After input from many organizations, groups, businesses and individuals, the WW County Commissioners voted to cancel the 2020 Walla Walla Fair & Frontier Days.
We are disappointed and saddened to miss our 154th Fair & Frontier Days and know many others will be as well, but we understand the many variables right now.
We know there are a lot of questions and we are working hard to get you answers. This is new for all of us and as stated during the meeting, a refund process will be presented, hopefully within a week to ten days.
Please watch our Facebook page and website for updates. As soon as we have the refund process in place, it will be posted.
This has been a hard year for so many, the Fairgrounds not excluded.
Due to limited staffing, the office is currently not taking phone calls, but is working online.
