Performance Two was a night of unexpected surprises and several new leaders in Rapid City.
In the bareback riding, just as soon as Tanner Aus had overtaken Jamie Howlett’s lead with an 89-point ride on Fettig Pro Rodeo’s Adam’s Pet, Jess Pope outdid them both with an 89.5 on Sankey Pro Rodeo & Phenom Genetics’ Prairie Rose to move into the No. 1 spot.
Ryder Wright took the lead in the saddle bronc riding, going 85.5 points on Sutton Rodeos’ Electric Avenue, and Mitch Pollock moved into the No. 3 spot with an 82.5 on Sutton’s Pickle Juice.

It was a disappointing night overall for the time-events cowboys with more than a few misses in the team roping and the fast time of the night in the steer wrestling being 4 flat, which was not quite fast enough to get Curtis Cassidy on the leaderboard. But calf roper Preston Pederson was able to get one tied in 8.3 seconds to move into third alongside Michael Otero and Trenton Smith.
In the barrel racing, no one was able to match Randee Prindle’s 11.80, a new arena record, but Kathy Grimes is now sitting second overall with a 12.05 and South Dakota’s own Jessica Routier slid into fifth with a 12.12-second run.

The bull riding was the event to watch on night two with a handful of qualified rides and three new top scores. Braden Richardson first took the lead with an 86-point ride on Sutton’s Grey Mouse, then Fletcher Jowers with an 89 on Sutton’s EvenFlow. Last out of the night, Parker Breding went 90.5 points on New Frontier Rodeo’s Law & Order to best them both and is now sitting No. 1 in Rapid City.
