Rodeo Austin: Playoffs Night 2

Austin Playoffs 2.jpg

The leaderboard is set to have changes tonight as the next group of contestants battle for their spot in the Top 8 of Rodeo Austin Semifinals. It is the second of three nights of Semifinals.

Waylon Bourgeios has a rematch with Beutler and Son Rodeo’s Table Top. The Louisiana bareback rider had the horse for the first time in Tucson, Arizona but to move on to the Finals in Austin, he will need to score higher than he did there.

Curtis Cassidy had a second-place finish in the Long Round with a quick 3.6-second run. It would be ideal for the Canadian bull dogger to make a run just as fast in the Semifinals to almost guarantee a spot in the Final Round. Newly crowned RodeoHouston Champion Dalton Massey will also be gunning for a fast time to land him inside the Top 8.

Clay Tryan and Jade Corkill along with Derrick Begay and Colter Todd did not land in the money in the Long Round but they did get the call back to the Semifinals for another shot. These teams are two of the most decorated cowboys in this performance with a 4.7 being the time to beat to take the lead.

It could be a tough night of calf roping with the lineup there is. Ty Harris has had momentum in his favor while Riley Webb’s horsepower is always top notch. Veterans Jake Pratt and Tyson Durfey are also two to never count out.
