Rodeo Austin announced Tuesday that Glen Alan Phillips would be its new Chief Operating Officer.
“The opportunity to come to Texas and be part of Rodeo Austin is one that I relish. Rodeo Austin’s commitment to the youth of Texas, agriculture and the community hits me at my core,” Phillips said. “I am excited and ready to work with the committed staff, volunteers and supporters to provide entertainment and educational events in our state’s capital.”
Phillips has previously worked for the American Royal and the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. Most recently, Phillips served as the General Manager of the Wrangler NFR. After guiding the temporary move to Texas during the COVID-19 pandemic, he stepped down after one year.
“Rodeo Austin is thrilled to welcome Glen Alan to our leadership team, his deep-rooted passion in the rodeo and livestock industry aligns perfectly with Rodeo Austin’s mission to grow the next generation,” the organization’s CEO Rob Golding said.
