Rocker Steiner’s terrific rookie season was put on hold for 2-3 months because of a knee injury sustained in the Championship Shootout at RodeoHouston.
Steiner, who is No. 8 in the PRCA Bareback Riding World Standings, joined WSR earlier this week to discuss the injury and how he is going to ramp back up into riding shape. His goal is to be back by the Reno Rodeo in mid-June.
Right now, he has a straight leg cast on his left leg, which Dr. Tandy Freeman wants him to stay in for another three weeks before he actually starts rehabbing.
“I honestly don’t know exactly what is going to happen, I’ve never been injured like this before,” Steiner said. “But (Dr. Freeman) wants me to go to therapy two times a week or something like that, just to get my leg firing like it used to.”
