Richard Childress on What Got Him Interested in Bull Riding and the Western Way of Life

Former NASCAR driver Richard Childress now owns a sports team outside of racing, the Carolina Cowboys in the PBR Team Series.

Childress, who was inducted to the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2017, says he is often wearing Wranglers and cowboy boots at the race track.

“I always loved the Western lifestyle and now for us to be involved with the PBR is really special,” he said.

This is not Childress’ first foray into Western sports. Last year, his grandson Austin Dillon had The Cowboy Channel logo on his car for multiple NASCAR races. Dillon will serve as the General Manager of the Carolina Cowboys. The team will be coached by North Carolina native Jerome Davis.
