Resistol Rookie Report, May 21: Wacey Schalla Has Big Weekend in Texas

The rookie shined in both bareback riding and bull riding

Wacey Schalla, a top contender in two events in the Resistol Rookie Standings, had an impressive weekend in Texas.

In Killeen, Schalla scored 84.5 points on Rylee’s Raisin in bareback riding, winning the event despite muddy conditions. He continued his streak in Vernon, tying for first place in bull riding with another 84.5-point ride at the Santa Rosa Roundup. Additionally, he secured the all-around title with a 78-point ride in bareback.

Schalla ranks fifth in both bareback and bull riding Resistol Rookie Standings, and he holds the top spot in the all-around race. He is also in the Top 40 of the PRCA World Standings for both events. At 18, Schalla is building on his previous success, including a National High School title last year, solidifying his reputation at the professional level.
