Rawley Johnson made money moves when he made the highest-marked ride of his career at the Panola County Cattlemen’s ProRodeo this past weekend. He was able to cash in to be your Resistol Rookie Athlete of the Week.
Johnson was out in the first of two performances in Carthage, Texas and he set the bar high. He drew Hi Lo Pro Rodeo’s News Flash, a bull that has only been covered one other time this season and it was for 88 points. Johnson’s 89.5-point ride would not only be the highest of his young career, but it would be the highest-marked ride made on News Flash.
Johnson made an 89-point ride on his permit in Red Lodge, Montana but he bested that this weekend and it came along with a trip to the pay window worth $2,000.
Johnson sits No. 6 in the Resistol Rookie Race and he has cracked into the Top 50 in the PRCA World Standings. If he keeps this momentum, he can make big moves over the summer run where there is plenty of money to be won.
Johnson’s career-high makes him your Resistol Rookie Athlete of the Week.
