Wacey Schalla still leads the All-Around Rookie Race and he is carrying on the momentum as a huge win came his way in the bull riding this weekend by way of Alaska to make him the Resistol Rookie Athlete of the Week.

Schalla made his way to Palmer, Alaska for the Northern Most Xtreme Bull Riding where he would match up with Big Stone Rodeo’s Watermelon Sugar. When eight seconds were up, Shalla topped the leaderboard with an 84.5-point ride.

That ride would be worth over $7,000 and move Schalla up to No. 3 in the Resistol Rookie Race and he now sits just outside the Top 20 in the PRCA Bull Riding World Standings, going from No. 39 to No. 22 in just one weekend.

The Oklahoma cowboy did not stop there while in Alaska. He covered the Bounty Bull for 91 points and all the gold to make his rookie trip to the Northern Most Xtreme Bulls one that he will never forget.

He is also in the Top 40 in the World Standings and in Rookie of the Year contention in bareback riding, but Schalla took this last week to focus on the bull riding and it paid off as he has now won bull riding events in consecutive weekends.
