Texas’ own Ty Bauerle is leading the way in the Resistol Rookie Race after huge success came his way during Rodeo Austin. The young gun is finding his stride in the Texas Swing and he is your Resistol Rookie Athlete of the Week.

The steer wrestling at Rodeo Austin proved to be tough as ever but Bauerle was hanging with the big dogs. A 6.0-second run in the First Round was out of the money, but it was a Average game this year in Austin and Bauerle played smart. He bounded back in Round 2 to throw down the second fastest time of the rodeo. His 3.7-second run earned him the Go-Round win and secured his place in the Finals.

Bauerle was one of only two rookies in the entire rodeo to make the Final Round and he wound up stopping the clock at 7.0 seconds on Championship Saturday. It was a run that put him fourth in the Final Round and it brought his time on three head to 16.7 seconds to put him fourth in the Average as well.

Bauerle added over $8,500 to his season earnings from Rodeo Austin alone to push him to No. 1 in the Rookie Standings and he now sits inside the Top 30 in the PRCA World Standings at just the right time. Bauerle is picking up steam and heading to the final leg of the Texas Swing as your Resistol Rookie Athlete of the Week.
