Ethan Mazurenko picked up the biggest win of his rookie year courtesy of a big ride at the Montana State University Northern Extreme Bares and Broncs Challenge. Being the high marked ride of the challenge makes Mazurenko your Resistol Rookie of the Week.

The Canadian bareback rider matched up with J Bar J’s Think Pink in Havre, Montana to be 87.5 points. The win was his by a point and a half and came with a $5,300 pay day. Mazurenko’s game plan was simple, he knew the J Bar J horse would do his job and he just had to do his.

It is another tough class of rookie bareback riders and Mazurenko sits inside the Top 5 with this win bringing his season earnings to $12,272 and the season is just getting rolling. He has had success at multiple Cinch World’s Toughest Events with Mazurenko’s second highest ride of the season coming in at 86 points from their Indianapolis event earlier in the season.

The Texas Swing is coming to a close and this boost of momentum coming just in time as Mazurenko is out in the first performance of the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo. He is the Resistol Rookie of the Week and hustling for another win.
