Texas’ bull rider, Jax Mills, gave a top-notch performance at RodeoHouston and picked up another home state win along the way to make him your Resistol Rookie of the Week.

Mills was up in Super Series 2 of RodeoHouston and his first draw was Legacy Pro Rodeo’s Unknown Foe. Mills now has the second qualified ride on the bull for his entire career and it came in at 80-points. He followed it up with a third-place finish in the third Round with an 81-point ride on TNT Pro Rodeo’s Ringo.

Mills racked up $4,688 in Houston to be the No. 3 bull rider from Super Series 2 to cinch his place in the Semifinals.

After getting the job done in Houston, Mills went on to Bay City, Texas where he would match up with a Pete Carr Pro Rodeo bull. The two would be 85.5 points to win the rodeo by six and a half points.

Mills is starting off the month of March on the right foot as he looks forward to RodeoHouston Semifinals on March 13-14. He is currently ranked No. 25 in the PRCA World Bull Riding Standings and No. 3 in the Resistol Rookie Race.

We wait for his return to NRG Stadium but today, Mills is your Resistol Rookie Athlete of the Week.
