Kade Sonnier is making sure to leave his mark in Resistol Rookie history as he looks at going into his first National Finals Rodeo with a chance for a World Championship.

By just $14, he has bumped himself into the No. 2 position in the World Standings following two wins over the weekdn, making him your Resistol Rookie Athlete of the Week.

In his home state of Louisiana, Sonnier rode for 89 points to win it all at the Springhill PRCA Rodeo and add another almost $2,000 to his earnings.

From there, he landed in Stephenville, Texas at the Cowboy Capital of the World PRCA Rodeo where he would be 84.5 on an NFR bronc of Pete Carr Pro Rodeo, Fox Hole Gunner. Two wins in one weekend and it was just enough to put him one hole closer to that No. 1 spot in the world.

The Louisiana bareback rider has had big wins all season long but his win in Stephenville came with more than just a buckle. The prize rifle that came along with the win is now his second favorite behind the Calgary Stampede Bronze.
