Ethan Mazurenko is your back-to-back Resistol Rookie Athlete of the Week after following up his MSU Northern Extreme Bares and Broncs win with a top-notch ride in the final leg of the Texas Swing.

The San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo kicked off inside the Foster Communications Coliseum on April 5 and Mazurenko claimed his spot at the top of the leaderboard that same night.

The young gun drew a horse that cowboys dream of when he matched up with Macza Pro Rodeo’s legendary mare, OLS Tubs Stevie Knicks. She is an award-winning bucking horse having claimed numerous Horse of the Year titles in Canada and having at least six 90+ point rides on her.

When the rookie got his turn for eight seconds on one of the greats, Mazurenko put in the work to be 86 points on OLS Tubs Stevie Knicks and it is currently sitting second in San Angelo.

He is looking at returning to San Angelo for the Final Round where he will have his shot to collect from the finals rodeo of the 2024 Texas Swing and only add to his momentum. Mazurenko is the No. 5 ranked Rookie bareback rider and he is climbing the World Standings. He is now a two-time Resistol Rookie Athlete of the Week.
