The PBR Teams Series will kick off its first ever season at a neutral location during Cheyenne Frontier Days in Wyoming. The teams have been preparing and training for this moment since they filled their rosters. The historical PBR Teams Draft Party was held at Texas Live in Arlington, Texas in May.
The Austin Gamblers got the first pick when the PBR had a lottery to determine the order of the draft for the teams and they went with none other than Jose Vitor Leme.
“No surprise there. Leme, definitely the No. 1 guy in the world. But the guy that beat him this year, Daylon Swearingen, the new World Champion, he went No. 3 to Texas,” said PBR Analyst Justin Felisko.
Swearingen will go down in history as one of the eight first ever PBR draft picks and he was also a part of the first ever trade made between the Texas Rattlers and Carolina Cowboys.
The other six bull riders that made up the first round of picks include Kaique Pacheco, Dalton Kasel, Colten Fritzlan, Luciano De Castro, Cody Jesus and Eli Vastbinder.
