Most will remember the scary injury Reid Oftedahl suffered at the 2022 NFR. Oftedahl suffered a neck injury and has been rehabbing since.
Oftedahl joined Western Sports Roundup to give an update on his rehab process.
“I’m feeling good. Working out a couple of times of week and trying to get back to 100 percent.”
Reid was unable to lift anything just four months ago, now, he is lifting weights again and hoping to get back the strength he lost over the months of bed rest.
“I couldn’t lift over five pounds for about four months so being able to finally lift some weights and get all my muscles back and stretching is really good.”
While Oftedahl is in recovery, he still has thoughts of returning to the rodeo.
“Hopefully someday get me back to 100 percent so I can get on.”
Throughout the entire process, his wife has been by his side, helping him whenever he needs it.
“My wife has been a huge blessing. She has helped me out so much when I get down... I’m just so blessed with the rodeo and Justin Sports Medicine and everyone who helped me out along the way.”
Oftedahl suffered the injury at his first career NFR.
