RECAP: Ute Mountain Round-Up

It was Jade Taton in Cortex, Colorado that got the win in the bareback with 82.5 points on Honeycutt Rodeo’s Falina. Spur Lacasse and Logan Patterson were not far behind.

Chase Black got his second win of the weekend in Cortez in the steer wrestling with 3.7 seconds. Zack Jongbloed was second with a 4.2 second run and Nick Guy was third with 4.4 seconds.

None other than Erich Rogers and Paden Bray took the win in the team roping with 4.4 seconds and Quinn Kesler and Caleb Hendrix were second with 2.8 seconds.

In the saddle bronc Leon Fountain gets another win with 81.5 points on Honeycutt Rodeo’s Shack Dragger. Second place was a tie between Reed Neeley and Creighton Curley with 78 points.

Westyn Hughes was 7.9 seconds to win the tie-down roping. Stetson Vest was 8.0 seconds and third was a tie with Clayton Smith and Colton Kofoed who both made 8.1 second runs.

Molly Otto was the barrel racing champion with 17.26 seconds followed by Katie Drosihn and a 17.33 second.

Young gun JC Mortensen won the bulls with 89 points on Honeycutt Rodeo’s Cajun Rouge. Daniel Lambright and Corey Daily made the only other qualified rides of the rodeo to get a piece of the money.
