Quality road colt sold for $1.5 million at Fasig-Tipton Mid-Atlantic sale

There was a big sale on May 17-18 on the East Coast that saw a 2-year-old colt sell for more than $1.5 million.

The Fasig-Tipton Mid-Atlantic sale is part of boom in horse sales that came about during the COVID-19 pandemic, whether it is thoroughbreds or quarter horses.

Overall, there was a 25.3 percent increase in gross sales over the previous year at the event in Maryland. The average horse sold for $93,097 and there was a total of $15.8 million in gross receipts for 170 head.
