Q Taylor is currently leading the Resistol Rookie Race in the saddle bronc riding while also sitting just inside the Top 15 in the PRCA World Standings.
“It feels really good. I’m really fortunate to be having the year I am and I’m just going to keep trying to do what I’ve been doing and finish the year out strong and try to get to the finals,” Taylor said.
The Canadian cowboy has matched up with some of rodeo’s top bucking horses this year including Bridwell Pro Rodeo’s Indian Burn and Burch Rodeo’s Lunatic From Hell. His ride on Indian Burn turned into an 88.5-point ride to win Redding Rodeo.
The rookie race this year has been a battle between Taylor and Ryder Sanford. Both currently sit on the bubble with five weeks left in the season but Taylor is hoping they both make it to the bright lights of Vegas.
“I think it’d be really cool to decide who wins the rookie at the tenth round of the NFR, I hope Ryder and I both get in there this year and it’s a fight all the way to the end,” he said.
With five weeks left in the season and prominent rodeos with big days still to go, Taylor has a lead foot down with his eye on the Thomas and Mack.
