STEVE WRUBEL

Riley Webb has held on tight to the No. 1 spot in the World while his traveling partner, Shad Mayfield, is the next closest cowboy and still trailing by $74,000.

Now, the dust has settled after a huge week in Calgary and the World Standings have shifted bringing one Canadian cowboy into the Top 15 and getting the reigning World Champion to the Top 20.

No. 3. Haven Meged, $103,200

Meged has moved up from No. 6 in the World after he pulled one Go-Round check at the Calgary Stampede and having an outstanding trip to the NFR Open. While in Colorado Springs, Meged was steady enough to place second in every Go-Round including the Four-Man Round and the Average. Meged added almost $20,000 to his season earnings from the NFR Open.

No. 6 Shane Hanchey, $83,600

Hanchey’s winnings at the Calgary Stampede and Sheridan WYO Rodeo have moved him up four spots in the World Standings. Winning two of three Go-Rounds in Pool C at the Stampede brought in $14,000 alone before he finished one hole shy of making it back for the Four-Man Round. A little further south in Wyoming, a 7.7-second run made Hanchey the Go-Round 1 winner before he placed second in the Average and added another $$7,500 to his earnings.

No. 9 Beau Cooper, $79,074

Cooper took the Calgary Stampede day by day and ended up the Champion adding the $50,000 prize to his name. An 8.5 put him third in Round 1 while a 7.2 tied him for second in Round 3 and made him the No. 3 tie-down roping coming back to the Semifinals from Pool A. In the Semifinals, it would be an 8.0-second run that pushed him through to the Four-Man Round where he stopped the clock almost a full second and a half faster than fellow Canadian Kyle Lucas to win it.

No. 18 Caleb Smidt, $54,930

Two Go-Round checks in Calgary added to a successful week in Wyoming for the reigning World Champion. An 8.5-second run won him Round 1 in Casper at the Central Wyoming Fair & PRCA Rodeo before he finished fifth in the Finals and the Average bringing in over $7,500. At the Sheridina WYO Rodeo, Smidt continued his success when he placed third in Round 1, first in Round 2 and first in the average. From there, he added over $10,000 to his season earnings and made a huge jump in the standings.
