PRCA Tie-Down Roping Standings, Sept. 6: Shad Mayfield Secures Win in Walla Walla, Kincade Henry Inches Towards Top 15
The pressure is on as only three and a half weeks remain in the regular season with big rodeos and big money ahead including the one and only Pendleton Roundup. With multiple checks up for grabs, those on the bubble including Tuf Cooper, Jake Pratt and Luke Potter are gunning to secure a spot in the Top 15.
No. 4 Shad Mayfield, $143,597
Shad “Money” Mayfield continues to grow his earnings as he claimed the win in Walla Walla, Washington to take home a check for $9,244. Mayfield secured the Go-Round win in Round No. 1 as he stopped the clock at 7.8 seconds. The Texas cowboy then followed up with an 8.3-second run to claim third-place and ultimately finish out at No. 1 in the Average with 16.7 seconds on two head. The World Champion is headed to his fifth National Finals Rodeo with $143, 597 in total earnings.
No. 8 John Douch, $122,238
John Douch added just over $10,000 to his earnings as he secured a win at the Ellensburg Rodeo with an aggregate time of 26.3 seconds on three head. Douch claimed the No. 2 spot in Round 1 with an 8.8 second run and sped things up as he cinched the top spot in the Short-Go with a run of 8.4 seconds. Now sitting inside the Top 10, Douch is headed towards a third National Finals Rodeo qualification.
No. 17 Kincade Henry, $91,719
Kincade Henry is now sitting No. 17 in the PRCA World Standings after splitting third-place at the Ellensburg Rodeo with fellow tie-down roper and No. 15 cowboy Michael Otero. Henry and Otero also tied in the Second Round for fifth-place to secure a check for $1,549. An 8.8-second run in the Finals locked Henry in at No. 2 and secured his spot in the Average with 28.0 seconds flat on three head.
