Stetson Jorgensen recently became the No. 1 steer wrestler in the PRCA World Standings punching the ticket for his fourth National Finals Rodeo but the job is not done for those fighting to get inside the Top 15. The Pendleton Round-Up average helped three cowboys climb the standings and one is the man on the bubble.
10. Tanner Brunner, $95,354
Brunner is eyeing his fourth trip to the Thomas and Mack and with two solid runs at the Pendleton Round-Up, he now sits just inside the Top 10. A 5.6-second run earned the Kansas cowboy a sixth-place finish in Round 1 and more than $1,200. He came back to Short Go Saturday to throw the fastest time of the round with a 5.9 and that put him fourth overall in the average.
11. Jesse Brown, $91,066
Brown snuck into the money during his home state rodeo in Oregon. He finished fifth in the average with a time of 22.2 seconds on three head and that added over $2,700 to his season earnings along with his fifth-place finish in the Short Round.
15. Nick Guy, $77,086
Guy threw down one of the fastest runs of the Pendleton Round-Up to get the Round 1 win with a 4.8 alongside rookie Bryn Roy. He went on to tie for third in the Short Round and finish second in the average with a time of 19.8 on three head. He brought in over $10,500 and is now ahead of No. 16 by over $7,000.
