Up and down each statistical category in the saddle bronc riding, you’ll find many of the usual suspects from the past few seasons at the top.
In Average Score, 12 of the Top 13 cowboys were at the 2022 NFR and the one who wasn’t, Ben Andersen, made it 2021. Heck, even the “new faces” have a pedigree. No. 14 in Average Score is 2022 Resistol Rookie of the Year Damian Brennan and No. 15 is Statler Wright, a two-time champ in Reno by age 19 and member of bronc riding’s royal family.
Go on down the list, and it’s more of the same. Many of the guys you have gotten used to seeing at the NFR will be there once again.
In riding percentage, for example, seven of the Top 10 have been multiple times in the 2020s and everyone in the Top 6 made it to the Big Show last year.
All six cowboys who have multiple 90-point rides this season were at the NFR. Same with all six that have at least 30 rides of 85 points or more.
As for Go-Round Wins, nine of the Top 10 are 2022 NFR qualifiers.
