MACI BERRY

It was a week of big scores for the saddle bronc riders in the PRCA and somehow, there were little changes in the PRCA World Standings.

Sage Newman holds tight to the No. 1 position as he looks towards returning to the Thomas & Mack leading the world for the second staight year. It is the reigning World Champion Zeke Thurston who is hot on his heels with none other than Stetson Wright sitting in third.

The bubble watch brings us Wyoming native Tanner Butner, Resistsol rookie Ryder Sanford and the youngest Wright on the road, Statler.

No. 5 Ben Andersen, $144,299

Andersen passed his fellow Canadian, Dawson Hay to now be the one sitting just inside the Top 5. At the United State Open Xtreme Bronc Match, Andersen got it started with an 83-point ride before he finished second in the finals with an 87.5 on Bailey Pro Rodeo’s James Bond. He left with $2,200 added to his earnings. He followed it up with a big win at the Omak Stampede aboard Big Bend Rodeo’s Spring Tour. It was an 85.5-point ride worth almost 4,000.

No. 10 Damian Brennan, $108,991

It was a huge week for Brennan as he hustles for his first National Finals Rodeo qualification. His highest marked ride of the week came alongside his biggest payday at the Lea County PRCA Rodeo. It was an 89.5-point ride on Pete Carr Pro Rodeo’s High Dive that was worth over $6,000. He kept the momentum going when he placed second in Round 1 of the United States Open Xtreme Bronc Match before winning the Final Round to add another $5,600 to his earnings.

No. 15 Ryder Sanford, $90,933

Sanford also had a week full of paydays. His kicked off his week with an 87.5-point ride in Sikeston, Missouri that was good enough for second. From there, the rookie bronc rider cashed in over $3,600 between his success at the Cache County Fair and Rodeo, Lea County PRCA Pro Rodeo and the Wayne Herman Invitational Xtreme Broncs. But the week was not complete without another win. At the Lawton Rangers Rodeo in Oklahoma, Sanford put together an 87-point ride to take $3,800 and the title home.
