PRCA Bull Riding Standings Update: Stetson Leads, Tristen Hutchings Charging, and the Bubble Grows

1280 Stetson Wright No. 1

STEVE WRUBEL

The familiar names remain at the top of the PRCA Bull Riding Standings, but unlike years past, nobody is running away with the No. 1 spot heading into the final two months of the regular season. As we stand on August 10, Stetson Wright has earned just under $219,000. A lead of $35,000 over his traveling partner Ky Hamilton. Behind Ky sits Josh Frost who is less than $1,000 out of second place.

Here is a look at some of the top Bull Riders and biggest movers over the last few weeks.

No. 1 Stetson Wright, $218,801

Stetson Wright continues to dominate wherever he goes. Wright took home the title at the Cheyenne Frontier Days where he had three rides over 90 points at the rodeo. In the Finals Wright went 91.5 points to get the win. The Cheyenne win was part of a great last two weeks of July for Wright, who also took home the title at the Ogden Pioneer Days Rodeo with an 88-point ride to win just under $10,000. Wright wasn’t done, he went on to win the Spanish Fork Fiesta Days Xtreme Bulls with a 90-point ride to earn another $12,000.

No. 3 Josh Frost, $185,847

Josh Frost is quietly putting together yet another great season. He is less than $1,000 out of second place and trails Stetson Wright by less than $40,000 for first. Frost found success towards the second half of July. He placed third at the Fiesta Days Rodeo with a 90-point ride to earn over $6,500. To follow that up, Frost took the average in Salinas and earned over $14,000 in total at the rodeo. The most recent big win for Frost came at the Douglas County Fair and Rodeo where he placed third and won another $3,600.

No. 5 Tristen Hutchings, $145,377

Tristen Hutchings has been on a mission since the middle of July. Looking back at the Utah Days of ’47 Rodeo, Hutchings earned over $15,000 thanks to a second-place finish in the average and a second-place finish in the first round. During the same weekend, Hutchings took home the title at the Fiesta Days rodeo with a 91.5-point ride to win over $11,000. To begin the Month of August, Hutchings won the Dodge City Xtreme Bulls with an 88.5-point ride. He would have two more wins in the first week of the month. One at the War Bonnet Round Up and the second at the Jerome County Fair and Rodeo.
