In Week 32 of the regular season, there was little movement in the PRCA Bareback Riding World Standings. Richmond Champion made the biggest move by jumping from No. 17 to No. 13 after an extremely successful first week of August.

Meanwhile, the bubble watch is on and riding the line are two rookies, Sam Petersen and Jacek Frost, with two-time National Finals Rodeo qualifier Taylor Broussard coming in at No. 17.

No. 8 Clayton Biglow, $105,604

Adding over $6,900 to his earnings, Biglow picked up two wins and a third-place finish so far in August. It kicked off at the Jerome County Fair and Rodeo with an 82-point ride on Corey & Lange Rodeo’s Jericho that was enough for the win. He followed it up with his second win of the week in Omak, Washington when he matched up with Big Bend Rodeo’s Minnie for 82.5 points at the Omak Stampede. His third-place finish happened to be his biggest pay day. It came after 83.5 points on Bailey Pro Rodeo’s Rocky Mountain Front proved to be worth $2,765.

No. 13 Richmond Champion, $84,999

Three wins later and Champion has climbed into the Top 15 in the World and is the reigning Exmark Roughstock Athlete of the Week. His highest marked ride came in Lovington, New Mexico at the Lea County PRCA Rodeo when he covered Pickett Pro Rodeo’s Uncapped for 88.5 points to cash in $5,922. He followed it up with a win in Montana at the Bozeman Stampede where an 84 was worth $3,913. This all happened after he kicked the week off at the Northeast Montana Fair and Rodeo with a win on J Bar J’s Gronk.

No. 14 Jacob Lees, $82,765

Placing at all the right places is proving to be just what Lees needed. With an 83-point ride on Bigtimin Houston of the Calgary Stampede’s, Lees started his week with a fourth-place finish. He followed it up in Lawton, Oklahoma with an 80.5 that carried him to the pay window before he swung over to New Mexico’s Lea County PRCA Rodeo to be fourth with an 84. It wrapped up with an 86.5-point ride on a horse he has had before, Legacy Pro Rodeo’s War Widow, and this ride was enough for the win and another $4,300 added to his earnings.

No. 19 Dean Thompson, $74,303

Thompson got the momentum swinging his way after a big win came in Hermiston, Oregon. A matchup with Calgary Stampede’s Agent Lynx landed him on top of the leaderboard with a win and over $4,000 coming his way. It was followed up with an 85 point ride in Lawton, Oklahoma that was enough for fourth and $1,200 before he added another $2,500 to his name by placing at the Omak Stampede and the Cache County Fair and Rodeo. Thompson’s success also earned him the title of Resistol Rookie of the Week.
