Positive Times Moment: American Hat Company honors fallen heroes

After 13 American soldiers paid the ultimate sacrifice in Afghanistan, American Hat Company wanted to find a way to honor them.

On Monday afternoon, US Army Veteran Master Sergeant Ray James Folse, US Navy Veteran Commander Larry Hoage and US Marine Sergeant Mervin G. Fournier read the names of each fallen soldier and lowered the American flag outside of American Hat Co’s headquarters to half-mast, where it will remain until Sept. 11.

“This idea for a tribute came to be at 5:30 yesterday, Sunday, evening. These three gentlemen were sent to us via Facebook and as soon as they found out what we were trying to do, they all agreed to travel to us,” American Hat Co. wrote on Instagram. “We can’t thank them enough for their service and being a part of something we very much wanted to do to honor our fallen soldiers.”
