Patrick Gottsch and the Resistol Team Discuss Inaugural Cowboy Channel Rookie Roundup Presented By Resistol

The Resistol Rookie of the Year Award has consistently helped launch professional rodeo careers for decades and thanks to a new event, those with dreams to rodeo at the highest level have an added incentive.

The Inaugural Cowboy Channel Rookie Roundup presented by Resistol will offer the Top 15 rookies in each event a chance to compete in their own rodeo with $100,000 in prize money on the line.

The money will not count toward the PRCA World Standings, however, it will count in the Resistol Rookie Standings.

On Western Sports Round-Up Tuesday evening, Rural Media Group Founder and President Patrick Gottsch was joined by Resistol’s General Manager Ricky Bolin and Marketing Director Mary Jane Carpenter. Alongside host Justin McKee, the trio discussed how the idea for a rookie rodeo came about and more.

The event will be held at Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth on April 29-30. In each discipline, the Top 8 will move to the Semifinals and the Top 4 will compete for the top prize in a Championship Shootout. You can watch every performance live or on demand on The Cowboy Channel and The Cowboy Channel+.
