Statler Wright had another inside scoop on his horse for the North Dakota Roughrider Cup, Squash Blossom Steely Dan of Macza Pro Rodeo. The two put up a score of 87.5 points to be the best of the day.
“Stetson was actually the one who was 88 on her in Salt Lake, but the first jump out of there I could feel the power she had, just kepy going at her. I knew she was going to do her job,” Wright said.
The youngest Wright is on his way to a possible first ever National Finals Rodeo qualification and the $17,000 that came out of Mandan has him that much closer.
Dawson Hay claimed second while Damian Brennan was third to wrap up the bronc riding.
