Leighton Berry put together another great season and will head to his fourth NFR in five years. Berry earned just under $173,000 on the year and will head to the Thomas & Mack No. 3 in the PRCA Bareback Riding World Standings.

Berry is $60,000 back of No. 1 Bareback Rider Rocker Steiner as he looks for his first-career World Title.

Chase Hawks Rough Stock Rodeo, $7,770

The first notable payday for Berry came at the Chase Hawks Rough Stock Rodeo where he was marked 87 points on Sankey Pro Rodeo and Phenom Genetics’ Prairie Rose. The win earned him over $7,500 and was a great start to his 2024 season back on Dec. 23, 2023.

He split the win with Cooper Cooke and Garrett Shadbolt while 2024 NFR qualifiers Cole Reiner, Cole Franks, Dean Thompson and Jacob Lees also won checks.

RodeoHouston, $53,750

Berry got his biggest win of the season at RodeoHouston after putting together a great stretch of riding. Berry had five rides of 80 points or more on his way to the Finals in Houston.

In the Finals, Berry posted his highest-marked ride of the year with a 91.5-point ride on Agent Lynx. That one ride added $50,000 to his earnings.

It was his second straight win at RodeoHouston.

Clovis Rodeo, $10,913

Berry had a dream matchup in Clovis when he drew C5 Rodeo’s Virgil. It was an opportunity he took full advantage of with an 88.5-point ride to get the win in Clovis. He bested Clayton Biglow’s 86-point ride and earned nearly $11,000. It was also his first career win in California.

The Calgary Stampede, $17,425

Berry won about 40 percent of his money for the season between the two highest paying PRCA rodeos, Houston and Calgary.

At The Greatest Outdoor Show on Dirt, Berry was marked 85.5 points or better on all five of his rides and three of them were 88 or better, including in both the Semifinals and the Finals.

Utah Days of ’47 Rodeo, $7,000

Berry didn’t take home the title at the Utah Days of ’47 Rodeo, but he still had a good weekend earnings wise in Salt Lake City. He opened the rodeo with an 87.5-point ride which earned him $2,000 and in the Finals, Berry would be 85.5 points on Tarnished Silver for a third-place finish. The finish earned him another $5,000 and brought his earnings in Utah to $7,000.

Deadwood Days of ’76 Rodeo, $5,293

Berry earned one of his four PRCA Playoff Series wins on the season at the Deadwood Days of ’76 Rodeo where he had a matchup with Sippin Firewater. The two danced for 87 points to get the win and earn Berry over $5,200 and he shared the title with fellow Top 5 bareback rider R.C. Landingham.

Following the victory, Berry began Augut at No. 2 in the PRCA World Standings.

North Dakota Roughrider Cup, $12,173

Berry ended his season on a nice run thanks to a strong showing at the inaugural North Dakota Roughrider Cup. Berry was marked 86.5 points to tie for second place and earn over $12,000.

The big payday moved him up one spot in the World Standings in the last two weeks of the regular season.
