No. 10 Bull Rider Ernie Courson Jr. Out After Breaking Bones in Face

Ernie Courson Jr., the No. 10 ranked bull rider in the PRCA, will miss around four weeks after breaking multiple bones in his face at the Reno Xtreme Bulls on June 16.

The 28-year-old told ProRodeo.com he had no recollection of the interview.

“I don’t remember nodding and I woke up and my wife was telling me ‘wake up baby.’ I woke up and I looked around and I was in the hospital, and I thought how did I get here? She told me I got knocked out and broke a few bones in my face.”

Courson, who does not wear a helmet, said that after this injury he will begin because of his two children.
