No. 1 Resistol Rookie Barrel Racer Bayleigh Choate on What She Has Learned in First Year

Bayleigh Choate did not have much time to adjust to becoming a professional barrel racer.

One of the first pro rodeos she entered was a qualifier for Fort Worth, which she won. She said she realized then that qualifying for Fort Worth meant she had to hit the road hard her rookie year.

“Boozer (her horse), we learned together, we learned how to adapt and overcome, we learned how to get through different situations and different setups,” she said. “The biggest thing I’ve learned is it takes one rodeo to turn your whole year around.”

With $19,251 in 2022, Choate leads the Resistol Rookie Standings. You can see the full interview here and watch her compete at The Cowboy Channel’s Rookie Roundup presented by Resistol on Friday at 2 PM ET on The Cowboy Channel+.
