NHSRA’s Student Athlete Of The Month

The Junior High & High School Rodeo Athletes for the month of April have great talent and big goals! These student athletes include 7th graders, Lily Arrowood and Braxton Townsend, as well as 12th graders, Zachary Townsend and Kirsten Walz.

Lily is from New Jersey and hopes to qualify for the Junior High Finals while continuing to learn more about her horse, Faith.

Brothers, Braxton and Zachary Townsend are from Greenville, Florida and take part in Roping and Steer Wrestling.

Senior, Kristin Walz, from Fort Madison, Iowa loves to Breakaway Rope and hopes to qualify for Nationals.

The Equine Athletes of The Month include Bronc Bogner’s Bonita’s Contessa, Caimbre Hess’s ULNVME TOO, Isabel Risse’s Blue, and Caden Ussery’s Chex N The Bar.

Thirteen-year-old from Illinois, Bronc Bogner’s Bonita Contessa is a 20-year-old Appaloosa. These two enjoy team roping and tying goats.

Caimbre Hess’s ULNVME TOO, also known as Gucci, resides in Arizona. Caimbre was a Junior High School State Champion Barrel Racer on this horse in 2021.

Isabel Risse from South Dakota has been to the National High School Finals with her horse Blue, who she says “is a fast learner and always knows his job”.

Chex N The Bar and Caden Ussery finished 6th in the Junior High Nationals in the breakaway roping.

Congratulations to the April Athletes of the Month!
