Saturday night belonged to the bulls, not the cowboys.

The bull riders went 2-for-15 and the Top 4 men in the world standings all bucked off, paving the way for rookie Colten Fritzlan to get his career round win at the Wrangler NFR and pick up a lot of ground money.

He earned 45,058 points, instead of the usual 26,231 that goes to first place thanks to his 89-point trip aboard Bar T Rodeo’s Angel’s Landing.

“I was expecting to show up here and do my job every given round,” the 20-year-old said. “I was just blessed today to get the round win.”

FRITZLAN’S WINNING RIDE

It did not look initially like the bulls would dominate because Ty Wallace conquered Yellowstone for 88.5 points as the first man out Saturday, but from there, Fritzlan would be the only one to make the whistle.
