For nearly two decades Cody Ohl and Fred Whitfield dominated the world of tie-down roping. From 1995-2006 Whitfield and Ohl won 11 of 12 World Titles. It is why the rivalry became known as the biggest rivalry at the NFR. The two brought the best out in each other, and they both know without the other, their careers may not look the same.
Whitfield won seven titles and Ohl has five, and when these two were at the NFR you knew who to watch for. While Whitfield has two more titles than Cody, he can boast the most NFR Go-Round wins with 52, passing Billy Etbauer’s record of 51 in 2014.
