National Western Stock Show Junior Angus Show

Western agriculture and lifestyle reporter Kirbe Schnoor caught up with Jacyln Upperman, director of events and education for the National Angus Association, on day one of the National Western Stock Show as the National Junior Angus Association‘s Junior Show kicked off the livestock events in Denver. The show featured nearly 180 entries and juniors from across the country between the ages of 8 and 21.

“This is the very first show, and it’s a lot of baby calves from the fall and summer,” Upperman says. “So a lot of them are very nervous to get out here, because it’s their first time being evaluated. So it really sets the stage for the whole year and basically what would be the champions for the future to come.”
