National Western Bracket 5 Steer Wrestler Will Lummus Throws Fastest Time of the Rodeo to Advance

Will Lummus is Semifinals Bound in Denver after a 3.5-second in Bracket 5, Round 2

Will Lummus is the No. 1 steer wrestler to advance from Bracket 5 at the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo. With a time of 8.2 seconds on two head, he leads his bracket by three tenths of a seconds.

Lummus’ 3.5-second run in Round 2 is the fastest bull dogging run we have seen this far at the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo and all the credit went to his equine partner and his hazer.

“That’s a great horse, I mean it really is. Benz is an awesome horse, I had Clayton hazing, actually on a horse we broke out this year. We took him to a few last year, Lucky, since Clayton retired his big horse, Cuatro. Just horsepower is the main thing here,” Lummus said.

Lummus is coming off an NFR where the momentum did not come his way. Being a veteran in the game, he knows to pick back up and is hoping to get 2024 off on the right foot with success in Denver. He is off to a hot start as he looks on towards the Semifinals where Tyler Ravenscroft and Jace Melvin will be joining him from Bracket 5.
