National Finals Rodeo 2023: Round 6 Daysheet

The first doubleheader in the NFR’s 65-year history begins Wednesday at 1 PM ET/10 AM PT on The Cowboy Channel and Cowboy Channel+.

BAREBACK RIDING

Reigning World Champion Jess Pope has a rematch for Round 6 with Harper an Morgan’s Sippin Firewater. He was an 87 on the horse the first time in 2021. Meanwhile, Rocker Steiner looks to regain some mojo on Wayne Vold’s True Grit. He rode that horse to his first career NFR round win in 2022.

STEER WRESTLING

JD Struxness is last out after a 3.3-second run to win Round 5. The first five bulldoggers Wednesday afternoon are all ranked in the Top 7.

TEAM ROPING

The team roping remains tight with about $16,000 separating the Top 5 headers and $36,000 separating the Top 5 heelers.

SADDLE BRONC RIDING

Damian Brennan will match up with the horse that Zeke Thurston split the Round 1 win on, Vein Reflections. Brennan has been steady picking up momentum in Las Vegas and this match up could send him back to the Winner’s Circle.

TIE-DOWN ROPING

The last three round have been won with the same time - 6.9 seconds.

BARREL RACING

Sissy Winn will look to take advantage of the top of the ground and pick up a third Go-Round win at the 2023 NFR.

BULL RIDING

Sage Kimzey picked up a huge Go-Round win in Round 5 and his rematch in Round 6 with Frontier Rodeo’s County Jail could land him there again. He was 85.5 points on that bull in Cody, Wyoming. Kimzey has won $99,000 the last two rounds thanks to ground money.
