Stevi Hillman is just outside the Top 15 in the World as we near the Summer Run. With the help of her heart horse Truck and the steady mare that is Brijett, Hillman found the pay window twice this weekend.

The big bay came down the alley at Woodward Elks Rodeo in Oklahoma on Wednesday night. It was a star-studded performance of barrel racers, but Hillman and Truck stopped the clock at 17.08 seconds. This became the time to beat during the next three performances and the closest lady to doing so was Shelley Morgan in the final performance.

Hillman then went from Oklahoma to Texas when she pulled into the Coleman PRCA Rodeo with Brijett ready to run. Although the ground was not the mare’s favorite, she was steady enough to be 17.89 seconds and in the money. The ninth-place finish paid about $300 in a game where every penny counts.

The win in Woodward came along with a $3,700 payday that has Hillman now ranked as the No.17 barrel racer in the WPRA World Standings. She is headed north to Reno next for the kickoff of the Summer Run, the run where Truck thrives and Hillman makes it all count. Her momentum has picked up just in time as she is the Montana Silversmiths WPRA Athlete of the Week.
