Dona Kay Rule has reserved this week’s title of Montana Silversmiths WPRA Athlete of the Week as she captured the win at the Guymon Pioneer Days Rodeo.
Round No. 1 was notable for Rule as she blazed through the arena in a remarkable 16.99 seconds, securing the top spot and the only sub 17.00-second run of the Rodeo.
Continuing her strong showing, she maintained her position in Round 2 with a solid 17.25-second run, adding $1,822 to her winnings.
Ultimately, her consistent performance over the two rounds led her to clinch the Average win with a total time of 34.24 seconds, earning her another $2,550, bringing her overall earnings to $6,923 in Guymon.
Sitting at No. 24 in the WPRA Barrel Racing World Standings, Rule is working her way up the Standings as she works towards a fifth National Finals Rodeo qualification.
