Meet The Athlete: Laramie Mosley

Laramie Mosley is currently the No. 9 ranked bull rider in the Professional Rodeos Cowboy Association and he is that close to making it to his first ever Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.

This year he has won over $73,000 right now and has had multiple big wins. Most recently, the cowboy won the Farm-City Pro Rodeo in Hermiston, Oregon with 86.5 points on Corey & Lange Rodeo’s Short Bus and that same weekend he got a win at the Canby Rodeo with 87.5 points on Bailey’s Rozet Swag of Bridwell Pro Rodeo. He got money at multiple go-rounds of the Calgary Stampede and before that he won the Guymon Pioneer Days Rodeo in Oklahoma with 91 points on County Jail of Frontier Rodeo. He won the Southeastern Livestock Exposition and Rodeo on top of the Goliad County Fair and Price Rodeo.

At the Xtreme Bulls events Mosley has shown up to be one of the best as well. He took home the win at San Angelo Xtreme Bulls with 90 points on Royal Reel of Pete Carr Pro Rodeo and he was second in the final round of the Cactus Jack Xtreme Bulls with 92 points on another one of Pete Carr’s, Twilight Zone.

Mosley did not have the most conventional, straight and narrow path to bull riding. He’s worked on feed lots growing up and can train horses as good, if not better, than he rides bulls. In fact, training horses is how he makes some of his money.

He didn’t set out this year with the goal of making the NFR but now that it’s so close, he has that exact opportunity. There are about five weeks left in the year and Mosley is making them count.
