Jacob Edler is the reigning steer wrestling world champion. Currently sitting in the top ten in the world for the 2021 season he is looking forward to his next Wrangler National Finals.
So far this year, Edler has won the Waller County Fair and Rodeo in Hempstead, Texas and the Ram Prairie Circuit Finals in Duncan, Oklahoma. He has placed in multiple rounds of the San Antonio and San Angelo Rodeos as well as finishing fourth in the 16-man round of RFD-TV’s The American.
For the 2020 season he split the round six win of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo while placing in six other go rounds. That year he also won the World’s Oldest Rodeo in Prescott, Arizona.
Edler grew up with a farming and ranching background in Iowa and he graduated from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, Oklahoma. He qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo and finished the reserve national champion behind his teammate, JD Struxness, who was also his hazer and visa versa. He is now a world champion, engaged and has a baby girl.
