Tie-Down roping has some of the most promising up and coming athletes, and Tyler Milligan could be considered in that group as well. Milligan is just 23 years old and has qualified for his second NFR in 2020. Milligan currently sits in fourth place in the world standings after earning $60,919 on the season.

Milligan started his season with a massive payday at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. Milligan won more than $12,000 at the event and took home a $10,120 check in the finals alone.

While that would be Milligan’s biggest win of the 2020 season, he sprinkled smaller wins throughout the season, which led to his fourth-place finish.

Milligan won Kansas’ Largest Night Rodeo after stopping the clock at 8.1 seconds and earning $2,465.

Tyler had a strong finish to the season as well, after earning more than $9,000 at the Tour Finale, including winning round three with a 7.7-second run. He followed up that third-round win with a second-place finish in the finals.

The weekend of the Tour Finale would continue to be a lucrative one for Milligan as he also won the Cowboy Capital of the World PRCA Rodeo with a 7.9-second run earning him a check of $1,986.

Milligan will look to improve on his career-best 8th place finish and is in a great position to do so. While catching Shad Mayfield in first place will be difficult, winning a round or two at the NFR will likely push him inside the top-3 of the World Standings.
