Mason Clements missed the NFR in 2019, after making it the previous two seasons. He is back at the finals in the ninth position after earning more than $58,000 in 2020.

His 2020 season saw him capture five championships across the country. In January he took the top spot with an 89.50 point ride at the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo in Denver, Colorado.

Clements was off to a hot start in 2020 and that continued in February when he won the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo thanks to a 91 point ride on Western Trails Rodeo’s Lorra Belle. That ride alone earned him a check for $11,700.

After the hot start, COVID-19 slowed things down for Clements who would not compete in another rodeo for nearly three months. Clements cooled down for two months but found another win in Nephi, Utah at the Ute Stampede. Clements rode Flying U Rodeo’s Lil Red Hawk for 88 points. The win earned Clements $2,800.

Clements would see two more wins in his 2020 season, winning both the Wyoming State Fair and the Golden Spike Rodeo.

While it is unlikely Clements will be able to move inside the top two, there is an opportunity for him to move up the standings at the NFR. Orin Larsen, who is currently in third place is $22,000 ahead of Clements in 2020 earnings. Clements has a great chance to best his top finish of his career, which is currently ninth (2018).
