For the second year in a row, Matt Merritt is set to bring his signature style of entertainment to the PBR World Finals. A milestone that marks a major personal achievement in his career.
“Being part of the PBR World Finals was always a big goal of mine,” Merritt said, “I didnt know if id ever reach it, so its pretty cool to get here.”
The PBR World Finals kick off May 8 at Cowtown Coliseum, where riders will battle through the elimination rounds before the action shifts to AT&T Stadium. For Merritt, jumping from a small, intimate arena to one of the biggest venues in rodeo isn’t a concern.
“After the National Anthem, you start figuring out how the different crowds react—take the recipes as they come to the kitchen,” he said.
This year’s Finals are shaping up to be one for the record books, with the closest race in PBR history. Less than 200 points separate the No.1 and No. 2 ranked riders heading in.
“It’s going to be a dog fight,” Merrit said. “Who knows who the world champions gonna be—I think we’re all gonna find out Championship Sunday of the Finals”
The PBR World Finals get underway May 8, 2025, at Cowtown Coliseum, with full coverage on The Cowboy Channel.
