Madison Outhier Talks Balancing School, Entrepreneurship and Professional Rodeo

Madison Outhier is one of three cowgirls that have made a sub-2 second run at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo and she is the No. 2 lady moving on to the Semifinals from Bracket 2.

But before she came to Fort Worth she was busy attending a full day of classes at Texas A&M University, something that the two-time Women’s Rodeo World Champion Breakaway Roper is used to doing.

“I make it work and it’s a lot fun. I really like going to school there, I’m doing business marketing, studying that with a minor in entrepreneurship and so I have a jewlery business that I’m doing on the side. It’s just a lot of fun, I really enjoy it,” Outhier said.

It wouldn’t be a full plate without including her horses and her go-to mount is Rooster, a horse that Outhier and her family raised.

“He was really easy to train as a young horse, he always wanted to go to calves. So he was pretty easy, we really learned how to win together. He taught me how to win and he was pretty young too when I started riding him so we just grew together,” she said.

We can look forward to seeing Outhier again in the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo Semifinals.
