Madison Outhier on Career Firsts, Coming Back from Injury at RodeoHouston and More

Breakaway roper Madison Outhier is set to make her return in Houston.

Madison Outhier was a part of history when she became the first ever Breakaway Roping Rookie of the Year.

“It was awesome. I remember just falling short of the NFR that year. I rodeoed all year with my dad and Bradi Good and I had no idea that they were giving a rookie of the year for breakaway that year,” Outhier said.

Breakaway ropers have been going through their own glass shattering events as the fastest event in rodeo became mainstream.

Another first that belongs to Outhier is winning the first breakaway and $100,000 at the American at the age of 16 on her great horse Rooster.

Since those wins, Outhier continues to shine in the rodeo arena and she makes her return after an injury in Salf Lake City during the 2024 season. RodeoHouston will be her first one back since July.

“I was lucky enough that they gave me the invite this year so I was super excited,” she said.
