Luke Branquinho tops the leader board after performance 3

Five-time world champion Luke Branquinho is no stranger to battling back from injury in his career.

In 2017 he was sidelined with a rotator cuff injury, in 2018 it was a biceps injury that held him out, and last year a knee injury prevented him from competing.

Branquinho just keeps coming back, however, and he did so in a big way in performance 3 of The American.

Branquinho stopped the clock at 3.69 seconds which put him at the top of the steer wrestling leader board.

After his run, he told The Cowboy Channel’s Amy Wilson how good it felt to be back in competition.

“It felt great, with Tyler Pearson riding the other side and riding Scooter it just makes my job easier. Especially coming off some injuries like that and having some confidence when you are back in the box is huge.”
