Lisa Lockhart Makes it 17 Straight NFR Qualifications, Making 2023 in the No. 5 Spot

Lisa Lockhart is a legend in the sport of barrel racing as she has secured her seventeenth straight National Finals Rodeo qualification in 2023.

Lockhart collected just under $134,600 in earnings throughout the regular season, bringing her career earnings to $3,308,970.

Lockhart is No. 5 in the WPRA World Standings and is the top returning barrel racer from the 2022 NFR Average Standings after finishing No. 3 behind Shelley Morgan and Bayleigh Choate.

BIGGEST PAYDAYS

The Calgary Stampede, $22,950

Lockhart collected a large check at The Calgary Stampede as she cinched the No. 2 spot in the Final Round with a run of 17.38 seconds. Lockhart got to the Finals by dominating Pool A, winning 2-of-3 rounds and finishing third in another. Her second-place finish in the Short Round earned her $10,000 toward the WPRA World Standings and her Pool A finishes paid her $12,950 toward the World Standings.

Pendleton Round-Up (Oregon), $11,181

Lockhart’s consistency at the Pendleton Round-Up paid off. She started by securing the No. 2 spot in Round 1 and then did the same in Round 2 to ultimately take second in the Average.

FASTEST RUNS

Badlands Circuit Finals (North Dakota), 13.60 Seconds

Lockhart won the final two rounds and the Average of her Circuit Finals back in October of 2022, her fastest time being her final one in Round 3. Overall, she made over $8,000 to kickstart her 2023 regular season.

Woodward Elks Rodeo (Oklahoma), 16.94 Seconds

Lockhart was the fastest cowgirl at the June PRCA Playoff Series Rodeo in Oklahoma. She won $4,100 and added $2,000 for a second place finish at the 101 Wild West Rodeo in Ponca City, Oklahoma that same weekend.

NOTABLE WINS

Sheridan WYO Rodeo, 17.21 Seconds

By a hundredth of a second, Lockhart edged out Kassie Mowry, who ironically finished one spot behind her in the regular season standings. The win paid more than $8,400 for a single run.
