Leighton Berry Successfully Defends Parker County Sheriff’s Posse and Frontier Days Rodeo Title

For the second consecutive year, Texas’ own Leighton Berry wins the Parker County Sheriff’s Posse and Frontier Days Rodeo.

Leighton Berry came into Weatherford as the defending champion and during the last performance, he showed us why. A matchup with Pete Carr Pro Rodeo’s Drinkin Again ended with a score of 86.5 points to make Berry the back-to-back champion.

“Oh man, hometown rodeo, to win it once is awesome but to come back the next year and have an awesome horse like that, two years in a row on a paint horse of Pete Carr’s, feels really good. I’ve got some momentum going into the summer,” Berry said.

Berry’s success during the Winter Run has him just outside the No. 1 spot in the World by only $50 and he continues to add to it. The Weatherford win came by just half a point but it was enough to add $2,600 to his season earnings.

Texas cowboy Cole Franks claimed second while Bradlee Miller and Jacob Lees tied for third.
